Sen. Bam Aquino on Senate resolution against SC’s quo warranto decision

The Supreme Court violated the Constitution with their decision to grant the Quo Warranto petition of the administration which unlawfully ousted Chief Justice Sereno.

Nilagay nila sa peligro ang demokrasya at karapatan ng mamamayan.

Hinahamon ngayon ang Senado na manindigan para sa taumbayan at demokrasya. Ang resolusyong ito ay pagtanggap sa hamon.

We now call on the public to support the Senate in restoring the checks and balances in government, enforcing the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution.

Sen. Bam on Senate’s stand against SC’s quo warranto

We appeal to the Senate to stand together and call out the Supreme Court for violating the rule of law and denying the Filipino people their right to hear the truth through a public impeachment trial.

A resolution is making the rounds in the Senate to categorically oppose the SC’s unconstitutional quo warranto decision.

This abuse of power threatens every Filipino and now we senators must make a stand and fulfill our mandate to uphold checks and balances, whatever our political color.

Together with the public, we must dissent this abuse to our rights and our sacred Constitution.

And we must now be fiercely vigilant and discerning of every decision made by the SC. They should know that the Filipino people are watching.

Sen. Bam on SC’s order requiring gov’t to submit report on drug war

We support the Supreme Court’s call for greater transparency in the War on Drugs.

Buhay at seguridad ng mga pamilya at komunidad ang nakataya dito.

We urge the PNP to earn the trust of the Filipino people by submitting accurate reports on drug operations, especially since they cannot seem to suppress the killings.

With 20,000 reported deaths due to the Drug War, it is only right that the public have access to real facts and information.

Sen. Bam on SC decision on Sen. De Lima’s petition

While we respect the decision of the Supreme Court, we are saddened and disappointed that the release of Senator Leila De Lima was not granted.

Still, we remain hopeful that the High Court will allow Sen. Leila to fulfill her duties as a duly elected senator, even under detention.

The minority will continue to throw our support behind Sen. Leila as she exhausts all legal remedies by appealing the Supreme Court’s decision.

Umaasa tayo na sa huli, makakamtan din ni Senator De Lima ang patas na pagkakataon at hustisya.

Sen. Bam on Supreme Court decision on Martial Law

We respect the decision of the Supreme Court and continue to support our Armed Forces at the front lines of this battle.

Still, we must remain vigilant and safeguard the rights of our countrymen until the firefight ends and Martial Law is lifted.

Let’s focus on giving displaced Filipino families the support they need and be ready to pour all efforts to rebuilding Marawi, reestablishing our schools, and creating jobs and livelihood for the community.

Bam on SC decision allowing Marcos’ burial in LNMB

We are gravely disappointed by the Supreme Court’s decision to bury a corrupt and ruthless dictator in the LNMB.

Though we must respect the outcome, my heart goes out to the thousands of victims during the darkest years in Philippine history.

We will carry on our work with the Department of Education to ensure that the truth about martial law is effectively taught in our schools.

With this decision, we need to be even more vigilant that the mistakes of the past are not repeated. Never again.
